Sensitivity to treatment-related changes of Chinese version of Tinnitus
Functional Index in thirty-nine tinnitus patients
Abstract
Sensitivity to treatment-related changes in tinnitus severity using the
Chinese version of Tinnitus Functional Index (TFI-CH) should be further
investigated in the mainland Chinese population and for a fixed,
well-controlled intervention (repetitive transcranial magnetic
stimulation). Good agreement was observed between visual analog scale
(VAS) and TFI-CH total scores before and after treatment, with both
measures showing significantly reduced after treatment (both p
< 0.001). There was good agreement between the response rates
to the intervention between the VAS and TFI-CH total scores. The TFI-CH
emotional subscale contributed most strongly to overall tinnitus
severity, and the reduction in severity was best predicted by emotional
benefit. The TFI-CH is suitable to evaluate treatment-related changes in
Chinese tinnitus patients.
